These 3 Domnick Hunter heatless desiccant dryers were ALMOST replaced for 3 new heat regenerative units as part of a major energy drive by a large food manufacturer in the south of Scotland. They were that is until Airmac were invited to offer our opinion.
The compressed air used to re-generate the integral media to dry the air to the quality the site required was almost 20% of all the air generated by the compressors.
The customer knew this was a ridiculous waste of energy and costing him £1,000’s of pounds every month.
This style of the dryer can be modified via a kit from the manufacturer to vastly reduce the air used to re-generate the media inside each dryer. This was our recommendation and one the site jumped at. The dryers are in fantastic condition and as we have posted in the past. Why replace when you can creatively reuse.
The investment now required to achieve the same goal is 50% of the cost to replace the dryers and there will be absolutely no interruption to the sites air supply.
