After years of tolerating a compressed air supply that was of sub-standard quality, we managed to persuade this site to bite the bullet and invest in a new desiccant dryer with all the bells and whistles.
Some of the benefits include, the purge air that can use up to 20% of the generated air for regeneration of the internal media is eliminated as this unit does this via vacuum. The desiccant is also slightly different than the standard type, which again has energy-saving characteristics.
We also fitted the dryer with Dewpoint control, so it doesn’t change towers unnecessarily and finally, it’s shrouded in an insulation pack to again save energy.
